In short: we collect only the details you choose to send us, mainly your birth details and how to reach you. We use them to prepare your reading and stay in touch. We never sell them, and you can ask us to delete them at any time.
Who we are
This website belongs to Astro Umesh (Umesh Astro Guide), a Vedic astrology practice based in Mumbai, India. In this policy, “we” and “us” mean Astro Umesh. Our contact details are at the end of this page.
What we collect
We collect only what you give us when you book a consultation, ask a question or order a gemstone:
- Contact details: your name, phone number and, if you share it, your email address.
- Birth details: your date, time and place of birth, and the questions you would like answered.
- Details of other people: for kundli matching, the birth details of your partner or family member. Please share these only with their permission.
- Order details: a delivery address and phone number for gemstone orders.
- Payment confirmations: the UPI or PayPal transaction reference or screenshot you send us after paying.
We will never ask for your UPI PIN, OTP, card number or bank password. If anyone asks for these in our name, do not share them.
How this website handles your details
- The website has no database. The contact form does not store your details anywhere. When you press “Send on WhatsApp”, your message opens in WhatsApp, and it reaches us only if you send it from there.
- The zodiac sign finder and the numerology calculator work entirely in your browser. Your date of birth and name are not sent to us unless you choose to share your result on WhatsApp.
- We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. The website only remembers whether you chose the light or dark theme, using your browser’s local storage.
Services from other companies
Some parts of the website and our service rely on other companies, whose own privacy policies apply:
- WhatsApp (Meta) carries the messages and calls you exchange with us.
- Google Fonts and jsDelivr supply the fonts and some code the website uses. Your browser connects to them, so they receive your IP address and basic browser information.
- Google Maps shows the map on our contact page.
- Your UPI app and bank process payments in rupees, and PayPal processes payments in US dollars.
- Courier companies receive your name, address and phone number to deliver gemstone orders.
How we use your information
- To prepare your birth chart and give your consultation, reading or kundli matching.
- To arrange, confirm and follow up on appointments.
- To source, send and support gemstone orders.
- To keep payment records that the law requires.
Sharing
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share it only with the services listed above, as far as they need it, or when the law requires us to.
How long we keep it
We keep your birth details and consultation notes while you consult us, so that follow-up readings are accurate. You can ask us to delete them at any time. Payment records are kept for as long as tax law requires.
Your rights
Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you;
- correct or update it;
- delete it, or stop using it (withdraw your consent);
- deal with a complaint about how we have handled it.
Send your request by WhatsApp or email using the details below, and we will reply as soon as we can.
Children
Our services are meant for adults. Details of anyone under 18 should be shared by a parent or guardian.
Keeping your information safe
We take reasonable care to protect your information, and WhatsApp messages are end-to-end encrypted. No method of sending or storing information online is completely secure, so please share only what your reading needs.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update it on this page and change the date at the top.
